SFEMBULL is a bulletin generator for SFE-mail. It is an integral part
of the SFE-mail package and should not be distributed separately.
SFEMBULL must be run from SFE-mail's home directory and the file
SFEMBULL.CFG must be present in that directory. The format for this
file is as follows:
Line #1: DOS path and filename for activity bulletin (No extension
necessary)
Line #2: DOS path and filename for tips bulletin (No extension
necessary)
Line #3: Your net's InterNet domain name (Ex. fidonet.org)
Line #4: OLD or NEW
NEW = SF v3.51+ @ display codes.
OLD = SF v3.5- CTRL character display codes.
You may of course specify a path different from Spitfire's display
directory if you wish only to use these bulletins to monitor E-mail
activity.
SFEMBULL will create ASCII, ANSI and RIP bulletins that include your
InterNet address and the volume of E-mail sent and received by your
system.
You may also edit MAILTIPS.TXT to add/change/delete the various
InterNet tips and trivia that SFEMBULL peruses to create the "tip of
the day" bulletin. Complete instructions are embedded in the file.
NOTE: The bulletins are created slightly differently depending on
whether the filename is "WELCOME?" or "BULLET??". This feature
ensures that the SFE-mail screens will not interfere with the
screens displayed after them. It also ensures that the welcome
screens pause correctly.
NOTE: Line #3 is used by SFEMBULL to display your InterNet address on
the generated bulletins. Standard FidoNet<->InterNet gateways
use a very long-winded addressing format based on your Fido
address. Don't worry about this, use the example above and
SFEMBULL will figure out the rest. For other gateways, such as
those running Chris Gunn's excellent Act-up gateway package, you
will need to contact the gateway operator to find out your exact
address. It will always start with a "@" or "%".
NOTE: Line #4 was added for backward compatibiltity with versions of SF
prior to v3.51
